Hogwarts Legacy includes "trans-inclusive character creation"

The upcoming Harry Potter game, Hogwarts Legacy, will have an inclusive character creator, according to a Bloomberg report. This will allow players to choose voice and body type unrelated to gender. Players can choose between the two options "witch" or "wizard" which then puts the player in one of two dorms. This choice also affects how they are addressed by other characters in the game.

An inclusive character is a noteworthy feature of Hogwarts Legacy due to J.K. Rowling's history of transphobia. The report states that as a result, "some members of the development team have fought to make the game as inclusive as possible, pushing for the character customization and even for a transgender character to be added".

The Harry Potter author is not directly involved in the game but her work is its foundation, tying it to Rowling's legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy is set to be released in 2022 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC.
