DICE is working on a new entry in the Battlefield series that is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X.
CEO Andrew Wilson announced EA's plans to "launch at least six new games on the next-gen consoles in FY22" in the company's latest financial report. The 2022 fiscal year spans from April 2021 to March 2022.
One of these upcoming games will be a new Battlefield title. "DICE is creating our next Battlefield game with never-before-seen scale," Wilson says. "The technical advancements of the new consoles are allowing the team to deliver on a true next-gen vision for the franchise. We have hands-on play testing underway internally, and the team’s been getting very positive feedback on the game as we’ve begun to engage our community."
Wilson also added a possible release timeframe for the game: "The next Battlefield is set to launch in holiday 2021, and we are excited to share a lot more about the game in the spring."
