Battlefield 4 has "deepest and most personal weapon customization ever", says DICE

Battlefield 4 will contain a “test range” so that users can practice using vehicles such as helicopters, so they can get some practice in before heading off to battle, according to DICE’s Lars Gustavsson.

The test area will allow players to “find the settings that work best,” before doing some stunt flights “to feel safe before you go out and get the responsibility of a bunch of other people sitting in your helicopter.”

DICE states in a new The Road to Battlefield 4 blog post that the game has three times the accessories and weapons than any other game in the series. Some weapons even have up to 240,000 combinations which can be used once you factor in accessories and other options. These variables can be found through a guide which appears on the game screen, providing various details and stats on each accessory and shows the various skins available as well.

The developer also outlined a way to collect various weapons through Battle Pickups in the game maps and included in many of the game modes. These are used as an incentive for players to try out the various gameplay and modes in the gam. Here's a trailer for the weapon customization.
