Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag is in the works at eight studios, has online singleplayer features
The game is being developed by eight Ubisoft studios. The publisher also revealed that the next-gen release will have online singleplayer features.
Ubisoft creative director Jean Guesdon revealed that Ubisoft Montreal is leading development with assistance from Ubisoft Singapore, Ubisoft Sofia and Ubisoft Québec on the singleplayer side and with Ubisoft Annecy and Ubisoft Bucharest on the multiplayer side. Ubisoft Kiev and Ubisoft Montpelier are also supporting the development of the game which means that eight studios are working on the new title.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will feature connected single-player features on next-gen releases. This means that you will be connected to the game’s community even when playing solo.
Creative director Jean Guesdon said: “ACIVBF will also be available on Next Gen consoles. In addition to improved graphics and physic, Next Gen versions will bring to the players new connected features allowing them to feel that even if they remain “Single Player” it will be better to be a “Single Connected Player”. I mean, that Next Gen Consoles will allow players to have a solo experience that benefit the presence of a huge community.”
