Wie bereits erwartet, wurde jetzt der sechste Resident Evil-Teil angekündigt. Alle Infos, den ersten Trailer und Bilder gibt es direkt hier.
Capcom hat endlich Resident Evil 6 bestätigt und für den 20.11.2012 angekündigt. Das Spiel erscheint für PS3 und Xbox 360 sowie später für den PC.
Capcom beschreibt das Spiel als ein "blending action and survival horror" und es ist "the most ambitious, immersive and feature rich title of the series to date and promises to be the dramatic horror experience of the year". In Resident Evil 6 werden Leon S. Kennedy und Chris Redfield spielbar sein, "who will be joined by new characters, each with their own unique perspective and involvement, in this relentless dramatic horror experience enacted on a global scale".
RE6 spielt in China und in den USA 10 Jahre nach Resident Evil 2 mit Chris Redfield und Leon Kennedy als die Hauptprotagonisten. Im Spiel will der US-Präsident mit dem Vorfall in Raccoon City an die Öffentlichkeit gehen, doch nach einem Biowaffen-Anschlag steht Leon Kennedy vor einer schweren Entscheidung, denn nun ist der Präsident auch infiziert worden.
In China muss Chris Redfield auch mit einem Anschlag umgehen und hat dort sein eigenes Squad um gegen die Horden von Untoten zu kämpfen. Die Welt steht in RE6 vor einer noch größeren Katastrophe, die Infektion hat sich weiter ausgebreitet. Das Spiel wird auch einen Coop-Modus bieten, sowie viele neue Charaktere und natürlich auch zahlreiche bekannte Gesichter.
“Resident Evil 6 represents a giant stride forward in the evolution of the series,” sagte Capcom’s R&D and marketing Head Katsuhiko Ichi. “The development team, led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, is working tirelessly to deliver the most impressive Resident Evil title ever both in terms of scope and production values. We are all genuinely excited by the title and cannot wait to share it with the world.”
Kobayashi fügte hinzu: “From the outset the team’s intention was to create an experience that delivers a gripping storyline, tense single-player and co-op action all set against a constant theme of horror. We are calling this fusion dramatic horror and are confident it will resonate with both existing fans of the series as well as newcomers.”

"It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision.
At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left."
Die Enthüllung des Spiels hatte schon vor ein paar Tagen auf der Website No Hope Left angefangen, die eine Ankündigung für heute geteast hatte. Die Website VentureBeat hatte heute schon geschrieben, dass Leon Kennedy und Chris Redfield die Hauptcharaktere im Spiel sein werden.

Passend zur Enthüllung von Resident Evil 6 wurde nun auch der bereits fünfte Film Resident Evil: Retribution für den Herbst 2012 angekündigt. Hier ist der Trailer zum Film mit Milla Jovovich. Der Teaser-Trailer beginnt mit einer Werbung von Sony und geht dann direkt über zum Film.
