Battlefield 1 open beta begins August 31, DICE announces season pass contents

DICE announced an open beta for the studio's new shooter and detailed the season pass.







DICE announced that the open beta will begin August 31st on PS4, Xbox One and on PC via Origin.

The beta will feature two multiplayer modes, Conquest and Rush, on the new Sinai Desert map. Playable with up to 64 players, this map includes a new controllable Armored Train behemoth, ridable horses and three new Elite Classes: Sentry, Flame Trooper and Tank Hunter.

DICE has also detailed the premium pass for Battlefield 1 which is a membership program delivering new content and early access to fans in four upcoming themed digital expansion packs.

Starting in March 2017, the first expansion pack "They Shall Not Pass" will bring the French army into the battle in multiplayer. The Russian Empire will follow in an upcoming expansion pack.

The premium pass contains 4 upcoming digital expansion packs, two-week early access to each expansion pack, 16 new multiplayer maps, 20 new weapons, new Elite Classes, new vehicles and new operations and game modes.

It also includes 14 battlepacks containing stand-out weapon skins, delivered monthly from November 2016 as well as 14 unique dog tags distributed over the course of the premium pass period.
