Ubisoft has shown several trailers and gameplay videos at E3 2013 to get you excited.

- Search for treasure in lost ruins
- Escape to hidden coves - BECOME THE MOST FEARED PIRATE IN THE CARIBBEAN – Command your ship, the Jackdaw, and strike fear in all who see her. Plunder and pillage to upgrade the Jackdaw with ammunition and equipment needed to fight off enemy ships. The ship’s improvements are critical to Edward’s progression through the game. Ubisoft and Sony have teamed up to offer exclusive content on PlayStation platforms – three missions starring Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation protagonist Aveline. Her missions take up where her story left off in Liberation.
Game director Ashraf Ismael said former Assassin’s Creed meta-protagonist Desmond Miles has been replaced by an Abstergo researcher. Unlike Desmond’s gameplay sequences in past games, Black Flag will be played from first-person during the present day sections. It’s not clear whether these sections will be purely story focused or, like Assassin’s Creed: Revelations first-person sequences, contain puzzle platforming. Assassin’s Creed 3 ended the story of Desmond Miles which drove the series to that point.
