Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 sold over 1 million copies at all Gamestop stores

The new shooter from Treyarch could have broken Modern Warfare 3's record when it comes to sales numbers.

Black Ops 2 sold over 1 million times during its midnight launch at all GameStop stores alone, said Gamestop president Tony Bartel. Analyst Michael Olson has estimated that the shooter sold between 6.5 million and 7.2 million units on the first day. Activision has not sent out official sales numbers of Black Ops 2.

The previous game Modern Warfare 3 hit 6.5 million units on the first day last year and it generated $775 million in revenue during its first five days on the market. According to Activision, it hit $1 billion in revenue in 16 days.
