The most difficult mode in the game will be available from the off, according to an announcement by the developer.
IO Interactive announced that Hitman: Absolution’s Purist mode will be playable from the beginning of the game, so the player doesn't have to unlock it. Agent 47 can not use the Instinct feature and his HUD in the Purist mode which increases the difficulty.
“It seems voicing your concern helps from time to time,” said an admin on the forum of the developer. “I’ve just heard back from the team that Purist mode is now designed to be unlocked from the get go. Unless something critical happens, I feel confident that you can all get your butts handed to you from the first playthrough.”
