Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will feature a new create-a-class mode

Treyarch explains the new create-a-class mode in the upcoming shooter.

David Vonderhaar from Treyarch explained the Black Ops 2′s progression system which is a pattern. There will be 55 levels and the amount of XP to reach  the final level is comparable to the first Black Ops game. The ‘create-a-class’ option can be unlocked at level four, when the player receives the following items to play with:
  • 1 Assault Rifle
  • 1 SMG
  • 1 LMG
  • 1 Shotgun
  • 1 Sniper Rifle
  • 1 Perk from each of the 3 perk categories
  • 1 lethal grenade
  • 1 tactical grenade/equipment
These are the following levelling unlocks:
  • Level 5: Perk
  • Level 6: Equipment
  • Level 7: Scorestreak (3 free and 3 optional ones to unlock with tokens)
  • Level 8: Perk
  • Level 9: Scorestreak
Every three levels the player gets something extra, like a gun choice.

Vonderhaar said: “At level 10, we start to settle into a pattern. There are exceptions, but the pattern is generally like this. At every major rank change, which is every 3 levels, we give you a gun and usually “something else” as a bonus for reaching a major rank change.”
