Resident Evil 6: Capcom reveals new details and more screenshots

Capcom announced new details for Resident Evil 6 including that the game will take place in 2013.

The publisher revealed the location in China, where Chris Redfield will be based. It'S a fictional town called Lanshiang. The third unknown protagonist is “currently engaged in a bloody conflict in Eastern Europe, and rather than think about the consequences and implications, he’s thinking how money he can make from it”. The location of Leon Kennedy is Tall Oaks, a fictional town in America.

Helena Harper has been confirmed as Leon Kennedys partner. She is a government agent who is transferring to the Secret Service being one of the president’s bodyguards. She feels that she is responsible for the infection of the president who is not the father of Ashley’s in RE4, by the way. Capcom announced that his name is Adam Benford and that he had hired Leon Kennedy after the Raccoon City incident.

Field Operations Support agent Ingrid Hunningan will support Leon in the new game like she did in Resident Evil 4. She was also seen in the first trailer.

There's also new information concerning enemies like typical zombies who have changed a bit since the last game. They will run, jump and use weapons. The new zombie type is the previously announced J'avo. This enemy has human abilities which helps him to understand human speech, he is also “incredibly agressive”. The J’avo will be able to regenerate and he can mutate damaged parts of his body into “a number of varied forms”.

But the most important detail is that players will be able to move while shooting. In addition, there will be a new control system so the player can slide, roll and take cover. Melee options have also been expanded by the developer.

Resident Evil 6 will be available on November 20 2012 für PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC version is set for a later release. Capcom also released new screens.
