Rockstar Games verlegt das Spiel nun ein paar Monate nach hinten, um sich mehr Zeit für die Entwicklung des Spiels zu schaffen.
Rockstar Games hat nun angekündigt, dass Max Payne 3 nicht mehr im März 2012, sondern im Mai 2012 erscheinen wird. Die PS3 und Xbox 360-Version erscheint am 18.05.2012 und die PC-Version am 1.06.2012. Auch Red Dead Redemption und L.A. Noire waren 2010 bzw. 2011 jeweils im Mai erschienen. Somit erscheint das Spiel erst im Fiskaljahr 2013.
“Max Payne 3 brings powerful storytelling back to the action-shooter genre,” sagte Rockstar Präsident Sam Houser. “Rockstar Studios are delivering a game that’s both incredibly cinematic and very, very intense to play.”
“We do not take changes to our release schedule lightly, and this short delay will ensure that Max Payne 3 delivers the highest quality, groundbreaking entertainment experience that is expected from our company,” so Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.
“Max Payne 3 promises to be one of our most exciting releases to date, and we are confident that consumers will once again be amazed by Rockstar’ s ability to take interactive entertainment to another level.”
Auch der Zeitraum zum Vorbestellen der Special Edition wurde verlängert. So wird die Deadline nicht im Januar sondern am 2.04.2012 sein.
