Activision hat jetzt bekannt gegeben, dass Modern Warfare 3 die 1 Milliarde Dollar-Marke im Bezug auf dem Umsaz erreicht, 16 Tage nach dem Release des Spiels. Dieser Wert wurde einen tag früher als Avatar erreicht. Der Film konnte 17 Tage nach Veröffentlichtung 1 Milliarde Dollar einspielen.

Am Releasetag konnte sich der Shooter 6,5 Millionen Mal verkaufen und einen Umsatz von 400 Millionen Dollar einbringen. 5 Tage nach dem Launch lag der Umsatz schon bei 775 Millionen Dollar, Verkaufszahlen dazu gibt es noch nicht.
