Crytek gab jetzt bekannt, dass die heiß erwartete PS3-Beta am 15.03.2011 kommen wird. Zur PS3-Version gibt es ein weiteres Multiplayer-Gameplay-Video und schließlich gab man noch bekannt, warum das Spiel ohne Move-Support erscheint.
PS3-Spieler können aufatmen, denn Crytek hat jetzt offiziell eine Beta für die PlaySation 3 angekündigt. Diese soll am 15.03.2011 erscheinen, die News kommen von der Game Developers Conference 2011 in San Francisco. Hasit Zala, von Crytek, sagte, dass der Entwickler die Integration von Sony's Bewegungssteuerung Move in Crysis 2 untersucht hat, aber letztendlich zum Schluss gekommen ist, Move nicht zu integrieren.
“We felt that in terms of what we were doing and the controls we needed, it didn’t really lend itself to the kind of gameplay experience we were looking to achieve,” sagte Zala auf der GDC 2011. “I think it’s an interesting concept, but I don’t think it’s quite there yet. I can’t think of too many first person shooters that are really embracing it at this point in time. There’s definitely something there but also with shooter controls, the sighting, being able to change your modes and your armour and switch into stealth mode – that makes it difficult for us to work with it at the moment.”
